今天我們聊聊英語中的介詞，介詞往往都是英語中拼寫最簡單的，但是用法卻很復(fù)雜。而about（關(guān)于）就是這樣一個本身沒有確定的含義，必須結(jié)合上下文才會發(fā)生作用的虛詞。

例句：

His new book is about the situation in Bosnia.

他的新書是關(guān)于波斯尼亞局勢的。

Mr. Smith loves to talk about what's wrong with the government.

史密斯先生愛談?wù)惺裁床粚Α?/p>

通常about后面會跟名詞或作為名詞用的詞組，但是美語中的用法卻有一些不同。

例句：

Midterm elections are all about voter turnout.

中期選舉完全是“關(guān)于”選民出動。

其實這句話的意思就是：The key to winning midterm elections is voter turnout.（中期選舉取勝的關(guān)鍵在于發(fā)動選民“出來投票”。）

Business travel isn't about adventure - it's about controlling your temple and keeping boredom at bay.

出差旅行不是“關(guān)于”新奇經(jīng)驗--而是“關(guān)于”不發(fā)脾氣，避免煩悶。

這句話的意思其實就是：There's no adventure in business travel - you just have to control your temper and keep from getting bored.（出差旅行不是什么新奇經(jīng)驗--主要的是“機(jī)場遇到麻煩”別發(fā)火，“長途飛行”別感覺煩悶。）

The mouse is about money - nothing more or less.

老鼠是不折不扣的“關(guān)于”錢。

其實也就是：Mickey Mouse is in business only to make money - that's all.（“米”老鼠做生意只是為了賺錢--別無其他。）
